Biography
Dr. Quangang Chen is an Associate Professor and Master’s Supervisor at Xuzhou Medical University. He has long been dedicated to teaching, research, and administrative work in laboratory animal science, animal infectious diseases, and the development of animal models for human diseases. He is particularly recognised for coining the concept of “porcineized mice” and has made major breakthroughs in this area, successfully generating porcineized mouse models susceptible to porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) as well as porcineized immune system mouse models. In recent years, he has also expanded his research into the discovery and engineering of shark-derived single-domain antibodies (VNARs). Leveraging their unique properties—small size, high stability, and deep tissue penetration—he focuses on developing VNAR-based diagnostic reagents and therapeutic candidates against infectious pathogens (e.g., PRRSV) and tumor-associated targets, aiming to bridge innovative biologics from bench to preclinical evaluation.
Dr. Chen has led a number of funded projects, including a General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 32172827), a Youth Program of the Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation (BK20170251), a Jiangsu Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Project (CX(24)3076), and several municipal and university‑level grants.
