Biography

Dr. Yingkui Liu is an associate professor and a master’s supervisor in Medical Biotechnology at School of Basic Medical Sciences and Life Sciences, Xuzhou Medical University. He received his Ph.D. from University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and currently serves as an expert reviewer for the random inspection of undergraduate theses. He actively bridges education and research, serving as principal investigator for numerous grants, including an NSFC Youth Project, a Jiangsu Provincial Teaching Reform Project, a Jiangsu Province “Double Innovation” Doctoral Talent Program, a national experimental center project, and two industry-sponsored projects.

Dr. Yingkui Liu’s research focuses on the application of multi-omics approaches in environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding, molecular mechanisms of environmental adaptation and adaptive evolution in oligochaetes—particularly leeches—protective mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine in medicinal oligochaetes, and the taxonomy, phylogeny, and evolution of oligochaetes.
