Biography
Zhu Zuobin joined the Genetics Teaching and Research Department of the School of Life Sciences at Xuzhou Medical University in 2016 as an associate professor. The current head of the Genetics Department, head of the Genetics Innovation Platform at the School of Life Sciences, deputy director of the Precision Diagnosis and Treatment Engineering Research Center for Multi gene Major Diseases in Jiangsu Province, and deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Genetics Fundamentals and Clinical Applications at Xuzhou Medical University. Has been awarded honorary titles such as "Model Teacher Ethics" and "Top Ten Outstanding Youth" by Xuzhou Medical University. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses such as Medical Genetics, Systems Biology, Advanced Medical Genetics, Genetics and Evolution. Edited the textbook "Systems Biology" (Southeast University Press, 2022), co edited the English monograph "Recent Advances in Bacterial Biofilm Studies", and participated in the compilation of the "14th Five Year Plan" textbook "Medical Genetics" (4th edition).
My research direction is microbial genetics and its intervention in reproductive aging. Using Caenorhabditis elegans, fruit flies, and mice as animal models, this study focuses on the mechanisms of microbial genetic variation regulating host lifespan and reproductive aging, the interaction between gut microbiota and host social behavior, and the development of precise diagnostic and therapeutic biomarkers for male infertility. The aim is to systematically investigate the genetic mechanisms of microbial host interaction.
Hosted 10 projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation General Project, and Xuzhou Basic Research and Development Program. Since taking office, I have published over 50 SCI papers as the first or corresponding author (including co authors), including 10 papers in the first district of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. As one of the main proposers, he participated in the construction of the "Upper Limit Theory of Genetic Diversity" and was included in university textbooks in the United States and China. Received four scientific and technological achievement awards, including the second prize of Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (ranked second), the second prize of China Association of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Science and Technology Award (ranked second), the third prize of Jiangsu Provincial Higher Education Science and Technology Research Achievement Award (ranked first), and the third prize of Jiangsu Provincial Medical Science and Technology Award (ranked first). We have applied for 12 national invention patents (including 1 each from the United States and the Netherlands), and have been granted 8 national invention patents as the first inventor. We have also obtained 3 computer software copyrights and achieved the industrial transformation of 1 patented technology.
