Biography
Dr. Niu Haichen joined Xuzhou Medical University in 2013 and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Genetics. He is a standing committee member of the Jiangsu Society for Neuroscience. He teaches undergraduate courses including Medical Genetics, Genetics, Medical Electrophysiology, and Heredity and Evolution. He acts as a peer reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as editorial reviewer for journals such as Frontiers in Neuroscience and Neuroscience Bulletin. His long-term research focuses on degenerative diseases of the motor system. At cellular, molecular and in vivo levels, he explores the pathogenic mechanisms of inflammation and α-Synuclein protein in motor system neurodegenerative disorders. He screens and validates novel therapeutic targets for Parkinson’s disease, providing theoretical basis for the development of new drugs against neurodegenerative diseases and major brain disorders.
