The former Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Immunity and Metabolism was the Laboratory of Immunity and Metabolism of Xuzhou Medical College, which was successively rated as the Key laboratory of school-level and Xuzhou City. In 2016, it was renamed as the Key Laboratory of Immunity and Metabolism of Xuzhou Medical University and was rated as the Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Immunity and Metabolism.
The laboratory has an area of more than 4,400 square meters, and the total value of instruments is more than 25 million yuan, including large equipment such as flow sorter, multifunctional experimental animal detection system, cell energy metabolism meter, and behavioral monitoring system. Relying on the first and second excellent disciplines in Jiangsu Province, Pharmaceutical Biology, and focusing on interdisciplinary and coordinated innovation, the laboratory has gradually converged to form three distinctive research directions: (1) metabolism and anti-infective immunity; (2) gut-brain axis and neurodegenerative diseases; (3) intestinal microecology and tumor immunity.
The laboratory focuses on team building and has absorbed a large number of talents through "introduction" and "training". At present, there are 13 doctoral supervisors and 36 master supervisors, and 49 of the team members have obtained doctoral degrees, accounting for 87.5%. 1 expert enjoying the special government allowance of The State Council, 1 "863 Scientist of the Ministry of Science and Technology", 1 winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, 1 overseas outstanding youth, 2 famous teaching teachers in Jiangsu Province, 10 special professors in Jiangsu Province, 2 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in the province, 17 winners of Provincial "Double Innovation" talents, provincial "Double Innovation" team members, provincial "Double Innovation" doctor, provincial "333 High-Level Talent Training Project" and provincial "Six Major Talent Peaks" project, 1 Jiangsu science and technology innovation team, 2 provincial "Qinglan Project" excellent teaching team, provincial " Qinglan Project" outstanding young backbone teachers and young and middle-aged academic leaders 11 people. The laboratory focuses on external exchanges and cooperation. It has established cooperative relations with the University of Wollongong, Australia, Imperial College London, and other foreign scientific research institutions.
