Speaker Biography:
Xu Yifei, Ph.D., is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. She holds the titles of Taishan Scholar Young Expert, Shandong Provincial Overseas Outstanding Young Scholar, First-Level Qilu Young Scholar of Shandong University, and leads the Youth Innovation Team of Shandong Higher Education Institutions. She obtained her Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Mississippi State University, USA, in 2016. From 2017 to 2020, she served as a Researcher in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Oxford, UK. In 2020, she joined Shandong University as a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. Her research focuses on the pathogen ecology and pathogen bioinformatics of natural focal diseases, conducting systematic and original studies in areas such as novel pathogen detection technologies, cross-species transmission of pathogens, and disease surveillance and early warning. She has led and participated in projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (General Program) and the National Key R&D Program of China. Representative research outcomes have been published as corresponding author in leading academic journals, including Nature Communications, Nucleic Acids Research, Eurosurveillance, and Journal of Infection. She currently serves as Deputy Secretary-General of the Wildlife-Borne Disease Committee of the China Wildlife Conservation Association, Standing Committee Member of the Biomedical Big Data Committee of the Chinese Society of Biotechnology, Member of the Biomedical Informatics Branch of the Biophysical Society of China, Senior Member of the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Vice Chair of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Committee of the Shandong Public Health Association, and Vice Chair of the Laboratory Medicine Committee of the Shandong Primary Health Association.
