Speaker Biography:
Professor Wei Lai, Chief Physician and Doctoral Supervisor, currently serves as Vice President of Beijing Tsinghua Changgeng Hospital affiliated with Tsinghua University, Director of the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Center, and Honorary Chairperson of the Chinese Society of Hepatology, Chinese Medical Association. He is a member of the World Health Organization (WHO) Expert Committee on Viral Hepatitis Prevention, Control Strategies, and Technologies, former Secretary-General of the Asia-Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver, and former Chairperson of the Sixth Committee of the Chinese Society of Hepatology, Chinese Medical Association. He has led major national scientific and technological projects focusing on chronic hepatitis B, chronic hepatitis C, and fatty liver disease. Additionally, he serves as an expert evaluator for new drug reviews in the fields of viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease, and rare liver diseases at the national level. Professor Wei holds editorial positions as Associate Editor for journals such as Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology, and Journal of Viral Hepatitis, and serves as an Editorial Board Member for Hepatology International, among others.
