To further promote scientific research and academic exchanges and improve the quality of young teachers’ applications for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects, the School of Life Sciences held a mobilization meeting for the 2025 NSFC project applications on the afternoon of September 11, with all faculty members in attendance.
Professor Gao Can, Dean of the School of Life Sciences, delivered a mobilization speech. He summarized the overall situation of the 2024 NSFC project applications and put forward clear requirements for the school’s 2025 application work. He emphasized the crucial significance of proposal writing in project application, and suggested all teachers optimize research topics and polish application manuscripts repeatedly. Meanwhile, he required all teaching and research sections to attach great importance to the application work and effectively improve the quality of NSFC proposals.
Professor Liu Yi, Vice Dean of the School of Life Sciences, delivered an academic report titled “LPS Induces Diabetic Cognitive Dysfunction via TLR4/MD2-Mediated Microglial Pyroptosis and the Intervention Effect of Hydrogen Sulfide”. In the report, he presented his team’s latest research progress and academic achievements, and conducted in-depth discussions on frontier research hotspots in the field of diabetic cognitive dysfunction. Such high-level academic exchanges are intended to facilitate in-depth interdisciplinary academic discussions and support the full launch of the school’s 2025 National Natural Science Foundation project application work on schedule.
As a key driving force for talent cultivation and disciplinary construction, NSFC projects serve as an important carrier for boosting teachers’ personal academic development. The school will continue to organize serial activities such as project proposal briefing and academic salons for NSFC application in the follow-up stage. These efforts are expected to stimulate teachers’ enthusiasm and innovative potential for scientific research and build a sound academic and research atmosphere in the school.
