To improve the quality of Young Teachers’ National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) project applications, the School of Life Sciences held the second NSFC project presentation activity of the year on the morning of November 17 in Conference Room 822 of the Teaching Main Building.

The activity specially invited Professor Zhou Xiuping from the Key Laboratory of the Institute of Neurological Diseases, Professor Zhang Hongxing, Vice Dean of the School of Anesthesiology, and Professor Li An’an from the Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Brain Disease Bioinformatics as expert reviewers. Presided over by Professor Gao Can, Dean of the School of Life Sciences, the event was attended by school leaders and faculty members.

Eight young teachers of the school, including Han Xufeng, Gao Jin, Yu Yanan, Liu Yan, Chen Yang, Qiao Jiaju, Zhang He and Ding Xiaoyue, delivered respective project presentations. The three professors provided practical guidance and valuable suggestions from multiple dimensions, including the logical rigor of application forms, preliminary research foundations and experimental model establishment, the completeness and intuitiveness of technical routes, the screening of intermolecular signals and therapeutic targets, as well as the background elaboration and scientific hypothesis in abstract writing.

Through in-depth discussions and comprehensive comments from the three expert professors, all participating teachers have gained new perspectives and innovative ideas for the compilation and improvement of NSFC project applications.
