School of Life Sciences Successfully Holds the 3rd Postgraduate Research and Academic Exchange Conference

On December 12, 2021, the 3rd Postgraduate Research and Academic Exchange Conference of the School of Life Sciences was successfully held in Room A102 of the Teaching Main Building. The conference invited Wang Nan from the School of Basic Medicine, as well as outstanding postgraduates Zhu Yao from our school and Tian Jiahao from the First Clinical Medical College. They shared professional experience concerning commonly used bioinformatics data processing, model organism cultivation and research methods in scientific practice.

Tian Jiahao illustrated transcriptome sequencing methods including RNA-Seq downstream analysis, explaining key and difficult points and answering on-site questions. Zhu Yao elaborated on the cultivation and research applications of Caenorhabditis elegans, and shared practical experience based on her own research work. Teacher Wang Nan shared practical research methods and professional skills accumulated in scientific research, encouraging all postgraduates to pursue continuous self-improvement and forge ahead steadily on their academic and life journeys.

Integrating the professional characteristics of biology disciplines, this academic event provided an effective face-to-face communication platform for students. It facilitated the sharing of experimental methods and research experience, promoted interdisciplinary communication, and created a vigorous and favorable academic atmosphere with an active on-site atmosphere.
