On December 2, the Academic Committee Meeting of the Key Laboratory of Genetic Basis and Clinical Applications of Xuzhou Medical University was successfully held at Xuzhou Wyndham Hotel. The meeting was attended by Professor Xie Wei from Southeast University, Chairman of the Academic Committee; expert committee members including Professor Wang Xiue from Nanjing Agricultural University, Professor Sun Fei from Zhejiang University, Professor Li Wei from Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center, Associate Researcher Liu Changdong from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Associate Researcher Xu Naining from Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, and Associate Researcher You Yingying from the Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, as well as Professor Gao Can from Xuzhou Medical University. Professor Cao Junli, Vice President of Xuzhou Medical University, Professor Song Yuanjian, Vice Dean of the School of Basic Medicine, Associate Professor Niu Haichen, Director of the Key Laboratory, and faculty members of the laboratory also participated in the meeting. The conference was co-chaired by Professor Gao Can and Professor Xie Wei.
Professor Cao Junli extended a warm welcome to the academic committee experts for their on-site guidance and expressed sincere gratitude for their consistent support and assistance to the laboratory. Director Niu Haichen delivered a comprehensive work report covering the laboratory’s research orientations, team building, project achievements, talent cultivation, platform construction, academic cooperation and exchanges, as well as social services. Subsequently, experts of the Academic Committee put forward targeted comments and constructive suggestions on the laboratory’s research fields and developmental orientations.
In the concluding speech, Professor Cao Junli affirmed the laboratory’s new progress in team building, scientific research, student training and platform construction in the field of medical genetics. He pointed out that the laboratory should further refine its research directions, strengthen the integration of basic research and clinical practice, adhere to the positioning of the key laboratory, and strive to achieve more innovative research achievements in the future.
