School of Life Sciences Successfully Holds the 3rd Session of the 2022 Academic Salon Series

On the afternoon of September 28, the 3rd session of the 2022 Academic Salon Series of the School of Life Sciences was successfully held in Conference Room 822 of the Teaching Main Building. Dr. Wang Shiyu, a newly joined faculty member, delivered a thematic lecture entitled “Discovery and Verification Methods of Antigen-Specific T Cell Receptors” for teachers of the school. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a complex autoimmune disease characterized by T cell dysfunction. The identification of disease-related T cells serves as a prerequisite for relevant mechanistic research. Based on T cell receptor repertoire sequencing, the research established a machine learning model using disease cohort data to screen out disease-associated T cell receptors. Meanwhile, a high-throughput antigen-specific TCR screening technology was developed to verify the antigen specificity of TCRs at the cellular functional level.

After the report, participating teachers engaged in vigorous academic discussions with Dr. Wang Shiyu focusing on T cell receptors, high-throughput antigen-specific TCR screening and other related research topics.
