Brief Introduction of the Presenter

   

Bao Shisan, Ph.D., Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor. He initiated the research direction of mucosal immunity after completing his postdoctoral research at the University of Sydney.

He serves as the Director of the Postgraduate Committee of the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, the University of Sydney, Australia. He is also the Treasurer of the Australian Chinese Universities Alliance and the Chairman of the Association of Chinese Scholars in Australia. In 1998 and 2000 respectively, he represented the Australian Academy of Science to cooperate with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, establishing and promoting scientific research links between China and Australia. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers in Medicine: Pathogenesis and Therapy, and the National Deputy Director of the Special Committee for County-level Medical Consortium of the China Primary Health Care Foundation.

He mainly engages in research on immunopathology, especially in the fields of mucosal immunity, obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular immunopathology.

He has published more than 230 SCI papers in international top journals such as Science, Circulation, Cell Research, Journal of Hepatology, Travel Medicine and Infectious Disease, Emerging Infectious Diseases, etc. His papers have been cited more than 10,500 times, and his H-index is 54. He has trained 30 doctoral students, 50 master's students, and more than 10 postdoctoral fellows. As a visiting professor at the School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and a visiting professor at Fudan University, he has established long-term cooperation with top tertiary hospitals in Shanghai and jointly trained more than 10 master's and doctoral students.
