On October 16, the School of Basic Medical Sciences successfully held a distinguished physiology lecture event themed "Global Lecture Hall, Global Classmates". The event attracted over 1,000 teachers and students from more than 30 domestic and foreign universities, including Xinjiang Second Medical University, Xinjiang Medical University, Tibet University, Yanbian University, Hainan Medical University, and Seoul National University (South Korea). Through a "hybrid offline + online" model, these universities and students from Xuzhou Medical University jointly attended this distinguished physiology lecture.

Professor Changhao Wu from the University of Surrey (UK), an expert at the Jiangsu Provincial Foreign Expert Workstation, was invited as the keynote speaker for this event. With his profound academic attainments and rich international teaching experience, Professor Wu systematically organized and vividly explained the core knowledge and cutting-edge progress in the field of physiology. The course content was not only grounded in basic theories but also focused on the international frontier trends of physiology. During the lecture, Professor Wu’s easy-to-understand teaching style, vivid case analyses, and close integration with cutting-edge research deeply engaged both offline and online teachers and students, significantly broadening their academic horizons. After the lecture, teachers and students from multiple universities conducted lively discussions with Professor Changhao Wu on topics such as the course content, research ideas, and future development plans. The interaction atmosphere—both on-site and online—was vibrant, and all participants expressed their expectation of having more opportunities to participate in such high-level international teaching and exchange activities in the future. This event was not only a successful delivery of professional knowledge but also a fruitful practice of international education and teaching exchanges. It provided teachers and students with a valuable opportunity to communicate directly with top international scholars, stimulated students’ strong interest in exploring life sciences, and at the same time opened up a new path for the university to expand international cooperation, enrich teaching models, and share high-quality educational resources.
