Recently, the 2025 World's Top 2% Scientists list, jointly released by a team led by Professor John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University and Elsevier, has been officially announced. Professor Pan Weiren from the Department of Human Anatomy at our school has been successfully selected for the annual scientific influence list in the field of surgery, thanks to his outstanding achievements in the lymphatic system. This honor not only signifies high recognition of his academic career but also highlights the profound research foundation of our university in the medical field.
The list is based on objective academic metrics from the Scopus database and is comprehensively assessed using six core indicators, including total citations, H-index, and co-author-adjusted HM-index. It selects the top 2% of scholars from nearly ten million scientists worldwide, covering 22 major disciplines and 174 subfields. The selection results enjoy broad international credibility. According to the statistics of the list, only 99 experts and scholars from China in the field of surgery were selected for this year's scientific influence list. Professor Pan Weiren's inclusion underscores his international influence in this field.
