On December 29, the School of Basic Medical Sciences held the second and third sessions of the "Global Lecture Hall, Global Classmates" Distinguished Physiologist Lecture Series. Focusing on the innovation of physiology teaching methods and the mutual learning of international experience, the event specially invited Professor Han Jin, Director of the Center for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases and Director of the Mitochondrial Signaling Laboratory at the College of Medicine, Inje University, South Korea, and Professor Zhang Yin-Hua from the College of Medicine, Seoul National University, South Korea, as keynote speakers. Teachers and students from more than 10 universities at home and abroad, including Xinjiang Second Medical College and the University of Surrey in the UK, participated both online and offline.
Professor Han Jin delivered a presentation themed Exercise-Induced Cardiac Adaptation. He systematically connected the core knowledge points of exercise physiology and cardiovascular function regulation, closely integrated abstract physiological mechanisms with daily life practices, and innovatively incorporated the cutting-edge applications of AI technology in the field of human motor function detection, presenting a high-quality course with both theoretical depth and practical innovation for the teachers and students.
Centering on the topic Why Hypertension is No. 1 Silent Killer? Professor Zhang Yin-Hua took case teaching of renowned figures as the starting point. Following the historical evolution of medical understanding of hypertension, he gradually expounded the core knowledge points such as vascular endothelial changes, microcirculation damage and complications of important organs caused by hypertension. The content was detailed and comprehensive with rigorous reasoning, which not only deepened the professional understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms of hypertension, but also broadened the international perspective on the prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases.
This event has built a high-quality platform for in-depth exchanges in medical education between China and foreign countries. Furthermore, it has introduced international cutting-edge teaching concepts and practical experience into the school's teaching system, providing strong support for further improving the talent training program, innovating teaching methods and enhancing teaching quality. It has also injected a steady stream of impetus into the School of Basic Medical Sciences for continuously deepening education and teaching reforms and comprehensively improving the quality of talent training.
