Recently, the semi‑final of the 12th National Medical Innovation Competition for College Students and the “Belt and Road” International Competition, hosted by the University Medical Innovation Competition Committee and undertaken by Shenzhen University, China Medical University and Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine, came to a successful conclusion. Following preliminary organization, selection and incubation by the School of Basic Medicine and Life Sciences and the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Basic Medical Science, a total of 24 projects from the School of Anesthesiology, the First Clinical Medical College, the School of International Education and other schools of our university qualified for the semi‑final. After fierce competition, our university won 8 First Prizes, 12 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 1 Honorable Mention. Among them, the 8 First‑Prize projects have advanced to the National Grand Final.
This year’s semi‑final focuses on comprehensive evaluation of medical students’ innovative thinking, with experimental design proficiency and practical capacity for medical innovation as its core competition criteria. Leveraging this competition, our students’ motivation to engage in in‑depth medical scientific research has been further stimulated. Going forward, our university will conduct a comprehensive review of the semi‑final participation experience, further polish the projects qualified for the National Grand Final, optimize undergraduate science and innovation cultivation measures, and strive for better results in the national final contest.
