In order to further improve the quality of internship teaching in various majors of the School of Life Sciences and promote the exchange and sharing of experience among teachers, at noon on May 23, the School organized an annual exchange meeting for outstanding internship teaching teachers in Conference Room 822 of the main teaching building. The meeting was chaired by Liu Yi, deputy dean of the School, and attended by five young teachers who applied for this year’s outstanding teaching teachers and teaching office staff to jointly explore the path of professional practice, teaching, and education in the new era.
At the exchange meeting, outstanding intern teachers shared their observations and summaries of the characteristics of teaching students. They said that students in the School of Life Sciences are generally active in thinking, enthusiastic about experimental operations and scientific research exploration, and have strong curiosity and desire for knowledge. However, some problems also exist, such as weak connection between theoretical knowledge and practical operations, and weak ability to solve complex experimental problems. In view of the characteristics of students, teachers provide personalized guidance during the practical teaching process according to different teaching situations, and formulate differentiated teaching strategies. For example, for students with weak foundation, a one-to-one feedback mechanism is adopted to strengthen targeted guidance; for serious exploratory students, a subject competition incentive mechanism is introduced to ignite the desire to explore; for perfectionistic students, the concept of "permissible error space" is adopted to alleviate anxiety, etc.
This exchange meeting focused on core contents such as the characteristics of teaching students, teaching experience, and reflection on teaching. It built a platform for communication and learning for intern teaching teachers in the School of Life Sciences, and promoted experience sharing among teachers and the improvement of teaching capabilities. The School will take this exchange meeting as an opportunity to adhere to the student-oriented approach, constantly summarize experience, improve teaching methods, further improve the quality of internship teaching, and lay a solid foundation for cultivating high-quality biomedical talents.
