On the morning of February 23, 2024, Wang Feng, member of the Standing Committee of the School Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, visited the School of Life Sciences to conduct an early-semester work inspection. Secretary Wang inspected the safety work and construction status of the scientific research experiment platform and teaching laboratory of the School of Biological Sciences, learned about the work status of teachers at the beginning of the semester, and held discussions with the leadership team of the school. Guo Yan, deputy secretary of the school’s Discipline Inspection Commission, accompanied the inspection.
Secretary Wang listened to the introduction of the construction of the School, discussed the work of the School with the leaders of the School, and gave important guidance on this year's key work. Secretary Wang pointed out that the talent work of the School is the key, and it is necessary to pay attention to the construction of the teaching team, expand channels, and introduce high-level talents; the development of the School should follow a characteristic route and make its own characteristics in discipline construction; it is necessary to focus on the main task of cultivating people with moral character, increase the internship and employment of students, and improve the quality of talent training and the employment quality of graduates. Secretary Wang encouraged the School to focus on the core work of the school in the new year, make plans for development goals, and work together to achieve high-quality development.
On the afternoon of February 27, Secretary Wang conducted teaching inspections and lectures in classroom C207 of the Science and Education Building. He listened to the "Introduction to the Basic Principles of Marxism" course for the 2022 biological science major, and carefully inspected the teaching infrastructure, teacher status, and student classroom performance. The teachers are well prepared for teaching, the students are energetic, the classroom is orderly, and the teaching is running well.
