In order to enable students to have a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the characteristics and development prospects of biological sciences, biotechnology, and bioinformatics, and to better choose a professional direction suitable for self-development, on October 13, the School of Life Sciences held a 2022 bioscience major selection briefing in classroom D102 of the main building. Li Chong, secretary of the Party branch of the School and head of the biological science major, Zheng Peng, deputy secretary, Liu Yong, director of the Biotechnology Teaching and Research Office and head of the biotechnology major, Zhang Qiang, teacher of the genetics teaching and research office, Xu Yue, counselor, teachers of the teaching and research office and all undergraduate students in the class of 2022 attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Secretary Zheng Peng.
At the meeting, the heads and teachers of each major gave multi-angle and multi-dimensional explanations from the development history of biological science undergraduate majors, the professional construction of the School, the characteristic positioning of each major, training goals, main courses, development paths, further education and employment, etc. At the same time, they focused on the current development trends of biomedical emerging industries and the talent needs and ability requirements for biological science majors, so as to encourage students to better plan their careers.

This major selection briefing will give participating students a clearer understanding of each major, and at the same time point out the direction for students to further make major choices and academic career planning.
