To implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statements on education and the guiding principles of the National Education Conference, as well as the Ministry of Education's Guidelines for Integrating Ideological and Political Education into Higher Education Courses and the provincial education department's implementation guidance, the School held a teaching presentation competition for demonstration courses in Conference Room 822 of the Main Building on the afternoon of May 19. The competition aimed to explore the moral and civic education elements embedded in different courses and promote coordination between dedicated ideological and political courses and values education across the curriculum. Ma Xing, a university teaching supervision expert, chaired the judging panel. Li Chong, Secretary of the School's Party Branch and Executive Vice Dean, Ge Yuanyuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch, and Vice Dean Liu Yi served as judges. Thirteen teachers competed, and other faculty members attended as observers.

The participating teachers carefully prepared and introduced the courses they took on in terms of course objectives, innovations in teaching methods and content, personal understanding and experience of the ideological and political courses, and cases of ideological and political design of the courses. During the teaching process, participating teachers integrated cutting-edge developments in professional technology, national events, fine traditions, and life examples with educational significance based on student characteristics and professional characteristics. They naturally integrated socialist core values, "curriculum ideological and political" elements and other content into teaching, which is highly targeted, innovative, timely and demonstrative.

At the end of the competition, the judges gave certain recognition to the participating teachers’ lecturing performance, and emphasized that the curriculum should not only focus on its professionalism and ignore the ideological and political aspects, but should naturally integrate the “trinity” teaching goals of value shaping, ability cultivation, and knowledge transfer into classroom teaching. In addition, ideological and political education also needs to consider being close to the actual life of students, influencing and educating students in a subtle way, and helping students shape a correct world view, outlook on life, and values.

Through this lecture competition, teachers communicated together, learned from each other, deeply explored various ideological and political curriculum resources, and actively explored the implementation paths of ideological and political curriculum. At the same time, it also promotes the progress of ideological and political teaching in college courses. In the next step, the School will continue to further promote the construction of ideological and political courses, integrate ideological and political education throughout the entire process of education and teaching, and achieve education by all staff throughout the entire process and in all dimensions.
