On September 13, the School successfully held the 2025 Graduate Tutor Training Meeting and the 2026 National Natural Science Foundation Application Mobilization Meeting. More than 150 people including college leaders, all graduate tutors, young teachers, and current graduate students participated in this training meeting. The meeting was chaired by Gao Can, Dean of the School of Life Sciences.
Professor Gao Can pointed out that the tutor team serves as the benchmark for the School's teaching staff, and its professional level determines the height of the School's connotation construction and discipline construction. She hopes that through this mentor training, focusing on the implementation of the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity and the theme of "implementing mentor job responsibilities and improving the quality of graduate training", she hopes to further strengthen the construction of mentors' ethics and work style in the School and improve their political quality and professional level. At the same time, we will effectively implement the 2026 National Natural Science Foundation application tasks and improve the quality of our institute’s National Natural Science Foundation applications.
Winner of the National Natural Science Foundation of China’s Outstanding Youth Science Fund, the Ministry of Education’s New Century Outstanding Talents, and Professor Kai Guoyin of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, gave a report on “National-level Scientific Research Project Application Experience and Award Cultivation Strategies” for the teachers and students attending the meeting. Based on his own experience in application and review of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, he provided detailed guidance on the overview of projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, application writing, and application precautions. and emphasized the importance of scientific research integrity. The report was rich in content and explained in simple terms, and the participating teachers and students benefited a lot.
Finally, Gao Can, on behalf of the participants, thanked Professor Kai Guoyin for his wonderful lectures and encouraged participating teachers to actively prepare for the National Natural Science Foundation of China project application in 2026 and strive for success.
