High-level academic leaders are urgently required to integrate modern cell biology technologies and major neuroscience research topics, fill gaps in key research areas of the team, boost competitiveness for major research grants, train interdisciplinary innovative talents and enhance disciplinary influence. The discipline has 13 existing faculty: 2 aged over 50, 8 aged 43–48, and 3 aged 34–37. Recruitment of one young faculty under 30 is needed to form a balanced faculty echelon and avoid severe staff shortage in a decade. Faculty undertake an average teaching workload of around 300 class hours per person annually; more staff are needed to share teaching tasks. |

The Teaching and Research Section of Genetics has abundant annual equivalent class hours (around 2,000). It maintains robust progress in disciplinary development, student innovation competitions and teaching work. Preliminary platform construction has laid a solid foundation to support newly hired teachers. To facilitate the construction of the minor program Precision Medicine and Biological Big Data Analysis and key research platforms such as Jiangsu Engineering Research Center for Precision Diagnosis and Treatment of Polygenic Major Diseases, the section urgently seeks high-level talents with interdisciplinary training in genetics, bioinformatics and artificial intelligence, focusing on reproduction, aging and age-related disease research. |

The Teaching and Research Section of Biotechnology is responsible for the Biotechnology undergraduate program development, teaching ten core specialized courses for biotechnology undergraduates, and disciplinary development of pharmaceutical biotechnology. The section has merely seven faculty: one on overseas academic visit and two aged over 50. To ensure sustained program construction and seamless teaching arrangement, follow the frontiers of biotechnology, satisfy research demands in synthetic biology, biomedicine and biomanufacturing, and support new curriculum development and high-level laboratory operation, high-level academic leaders are urgently required to optimize faculty composition and boost core competitiveness. |
Laboratory Animal Science |

To satisfy the demand for high-level faculty amid the rapid development of medical laboratory animal science and improve its curriculum and practical teaching capacity, doctoral talents in relevant fields are to be recruited. The Teaching and Research Section of Medical Laboratory Animal Science has merely five faculty, two scheduled for maternity leave in 2026. Each staff bears an annual teaching workload of over 400 class hours on average. New staff recruitment is necessary to guarantee uninterrupted specialized teaching. |
