On May 26, the School of Life Science of Xuzhou Medical University (XZMU) launched co-construction and development-oriented activities with the School of Life Science of Anhui Medical University (AHMU). Li Chong, Secretary of the General Party Branch, Gao Can, Dean of the School, and Zheng Peng, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch from XZMU attended the event, together with Shen Hui, Party Secretary, Zhou Hong, Dean, and Zhou Yin, Deputy Party Secretary from the School of Life Science of AHMU.
On the morning of May 26, teachers and students from both schools visited the Huaihai Campaign Martyrs Memorial Tower. They reviewed the history of the Huaihai Campaign, appreciated relief sculptures, read inscriptions, and paid tribute to the list of revolutionary martyrs to cherish the memory of revolutionary heroes. Standing in front of the memorial tower, all participating Party members revisited their Party admission oaths. The solemn memorial venue and powerful oaths further strengthened their original aspirations for joining the Party and clarified their mission responsibilities.
In the afternoon of the same day, teachers and students from the two schools conducted in-depth exchanges focusing on discipline construction, as well as the development of faculty and student Party branches. Dean Gao Can elaborated on the measures and achievements of the School of Life Science, XZMU, in discipline development, talent cultivation and scientific research. He expressed the hope that the two schools would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation to jointly promote the high-quality development of life science education. Dean Zhou Hong introduced the development history, discipline construction, scientific and technological transformation, and social service undertakings of the School of Life Science, AHMU. He stated that taking this exchange activity as an opportunity, both sides could identify common ground in teaching and scientific research, so as to lay a solid foundation for more extensive and in-depth academic cooperation in the future.
During the academic exchange session, young teachers from AHMU including Professor Zhang Aili, Professor Li Xu and Professor Zhu Chengming, as well as Associate Professor Tang Chuanxi and Teacher Zhou Jianteng from XZMU delivered academic reports on their respective research fields.
In the Party building exchange segment, Li Chong and Shen Hui respectively introduced the Party building work, the “double leader” cultivation mechanism and the brand construction of student Party branches of the two schools. Person-in-charges of faculty and undergraduate Party branches from both sides shared the development of characteristic Party building activities. Both parties agreed to take Party building as the guide to strengthen communication and collaboration, share high-quality resources, explore new cooperation paths, and boost the high-quality development of both schools.
During the activity, teachers and students from the School of Life Science, AHMU also visited the Barefoot Doctor Museum of Xuzhou Medical University, and learned and perceived the professional spirit of barefoot doctors of taking root in grassroots communities and dedicating themselves selflessly to public health causes.
