From August 20th to 22nd, Professor ZHANG Yinhua and Professor Sung Joon Kim from the School of Medicine of Seoul National University in South Korea, as well as Professor Cheng Hwee Ming and Professor Hoe See Ziau from the University of Malaya in Malaysia, visited our university for exchanges.
LIU Shenjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the university extended a warm welcome to the visiting professors on behalf of the university. He pointed out that our university attaches great importance to international exchanges and looks forward to further expanding the scope of exchanges with overseas universities, enriching the connotations of cooperation, and jointly promoting high-quality development. During the meeting, discussions were also held regarding our university's hosting of the International Physiology Competition. Professor Cheng Hwee Ming, the initiator of the International Physiology Competition, expressed his support for this.
The four professors were also invited to participate in the mid-term assessment of the postgraduate students majoring in physiology at the School of Basic Medical Sciences of our university. Each professor provided comments on the mid-term reports of the postgraduate students majoring in physiology and had a heated discussion with the students and their supervisors on scientific research, postgraduate cultivation, and other aspects. The guests also had an in-depth exchange on the future cooperation in teaching, scientific research, and joint supervision of postgraduate students between the Department of Physiology of Seoul National University, the Department of Physiology of the University of Malaya, and the discipline of Physiology at our university, and explored the ways to achieve these cooperation goals.
The four professors also experienced China's traditional culture and folk customs on the spot.
