To help freshmen quickly adapt to university study and life, deepen their understanding of the school’s development and major construction, and clarify future career directions, the School of Life Sciences held the opening ceremony of freshmen orientation education for the Class of 2025 on the afternoon of September 10. Li Chong, General Party Branch Secretary, Gao Can, Dean, heads of all majors and administrative offices, grade counselors and all freshmen of the Class of 2025 attended the meeting, which was hosted by Zheng Peng, Deputy General Party Branch Secretary.
First, Dean Gao Can delivered a speech, extending warm congratulations and welcome to all undergraduate freshmen of the Class of 2025. He detailed the school’s development history, disciplinary overview and faculty strength, urging students to foster sound study styles, abide by academic integrity and maintain mental health. He expected students to grow into lifelong sports practitioners, responsibility bearers, problem solvers and elegant life pursuers through undergraduate studies.
Subsequently, Deputy Secretary Zheng Peng introduced student management, safety education, academic atmosphere construction, mental health and career planning. He reminded freshmen to complete the role transition from high school students to university students as soon as possible, strictly abide by school rules and regulations, take an active part in academic and cultural activities, and comprehensively improve their comprehensive quality.
The orientation education conference featured rich content and far-reaching significance. It strengthened freshmen’s sense of belonging to the school and recognition of their majors, laying a solid foundation for them to launch their university life smoothly and clarify their goals.
