On the evening of August 31, the first grade meetings of the new semester for the School of Life Sciences were held in Classrooms B201 and B202 of the Main Building respectively. Xu Yue, counselor for the Class of 2023, and Hong Xiaoran, counselor for the Class of 2024, delivered a practical "First Lesson of the New Term" covering campus safety, academic development and new-semester planning. Zheng Peng, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of Life Sciences, attended the meetings.
Centered on campus safety, the counselors focused on five key safety areas: public security, fire prevention, cybersecurity, traffic safety and laboratory safety. Combining real campus cases, they vividly analyzed common potential hazards, reminding students to stay alert at all times, master risk prevention skills, and jointly safeguard a safe campus. Meanwhile, the counselors systematically analyzed academic performance from the previous semester to help students objectively assess their own learning status. They guided students to set scientific goals and optimize learning methods for greater progress in the new semester.
The grade meetings further strengthened students’ awareness of safety and self-planning, laying a solid foundation for study and life in the new semester. Students all stated they would embrace the new term with a more positive attitude, work steadily and forge ahead to jointly build a harmonious and progressive campus atmosphere.
As the new semester kicks off, the School of Life Sciences will continue to deliver solid student education, management and service work, escort students’ growth and development, and drive the high-quality development of the school’s talent cultivation work.
