As the new year begins and spring breezes arrive, the 2024 spring semester kicks off. To strengthen early-semester student safety management and upgrade dormitory safety and hygiene standards, the School of Life Sciences organized grade meetings across all cohorts and a comprehensive dormitory safety & sanitation inspection on February 25.

On the afternoon of February 25, Zheng Peng, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch, together with counselors Xu Yue and Hong Xiaoran, visited all undergraduate and postgraduate dormitories. They tracked students’ return status and focused on electrical safety risks, alongside thorough checks of dorm cleanliness, heating facilities and fire equipment. During dorm visits, Secretary Zheng listened carefully to students’ living demands and improvement suggestions. He issued rectification notices for unsafe electricity usage and cluttered rooms, reminding students to use electrical appliances in compliance with regulations and strictly ban prohibited high-power devices to safeguard personal safety.

That evening, grade meetings were held in Classrooms B202 and D201 of the Main Building. Counselors Xu Yue and Hong Xiaoran highlighted academic performance from the previous semester, key tasks for the current term and fire safety. They delivered campus safety briefings covering traffic hazards, dorm fire & electricity risks and telecom fraud prevention, urging all students to abide by campus rules, boost risk awareness and adjust their mindset for academic life in the new semester.

The grade meetings and dorm inspection laid a solid foundation for all school activities in spring 2024. Moving forward, the School of Life Sciences will continuously strengthen student safety education and management, fully implement university assignments, and cultivate a secure, supportive environment for students’ healthy growth.
