To fully guarantee safety for students residing on campus over winter break and maintain stable dormitory conditions, the School of Life Sciences launched a full dorm safety inspection on January 24, 2024, led by counselors Yue Xu and Xiaoran Hong. The inspection focused on general dorm safety, fire protection and electrical hazards.
While touring rooms, counselors checked on students’ mental state, study schedules, research experiment progress and daily arrangements. They encouraged students to balance lab work and daily life rationally, and return home promptly upon completing winter research tasks.
The team closely examined water & electricity safety, fire hazards and sanitation conditions in each occupied dorm. Key risks under review included forbidden electrical appliances, unauthorized wiring and accumulated clutter. Counselors emphasized strict compliance with campus regulations, mandatory power cuts and locked windows/doors when leaving rooms, and the elimination of prohibited devices to cultivate safe living habits.
Throughout winter vacation, the School of Life Sciences will sustain robust safety education and comprehensive student services, eliminate potential accidents, build a solid safety barrier, and ensure all on-campus students enjoy a secure, peaceful holiday stay.
