School of Life Sciences Holds the 4th Postgraduate Academic Exchange Conference

On November 30, 2022, the School of Life Sciences successfully hosted the 4th Postgraduate Academic Exchange Conference themed Gather Insights from All, Assemble the Essence of Thoughts in Classroom 101, Block C of the Main Building. The event specially invited Teachers Tang Chuanxi and Wang Shiyu from the school to deliver reports covering data processing, experimental methods, research experience and literature retrieval in scientific practice. Postgraduate students Lao Peipei, Zhou Han and Cao Lingsheng also shared their research journeys.

The conference kicked off with Teacher Wang Shiyu’s vivid PPT presentation on the discovery and validation methods of antigen-specific T cell receptors. She explained key and difficult points in plain language and enthusiastically answered students’ questions, earning warm feedback. Next, Teacher Tang Chuanxi presented his research on dopamine in the prefrontal cortex and Parkinson’s disease. Drawing from his own lab experience, he stressed the importance of perseverance, patience and carefulness in experiments. Afterwards, Lao Peipei exchanged insights on literature reading and paper writing. Zhou Han elaborated on the full procedures and practical takeaways of cell culture. Finally, Cao Lingsheng shared skills and experience in immunofluorescence staining. The wonderful speeches by faculty and senior researchers offered valuable guidance to postgraduates navigating scientific research. After the presentations, students applauded warmly and raised numerous questions to exchange experience, creating a lively atmosphere.

Centered on biological disciplines, this conference shared experimental protocols and research experience, building a face-to-face communication platform for postgraduates across different majors, boosting interdisciplinary exchanges and fostering a strong academic culture within the school.
